Bonjour et Bienvenue à la classe de Français avec Madame Ettzevoglou (Madame E)!
I am really excited about my 4th year with the World Language team at AHS this year where I will be teaching French 1, 2,2H and IB Ab initio. This will be my 8th year teaching high school in Fulton County. Previously, I taught in Macon, GA for 3 years at the middle school level and served as Department Chair. I spent many years teaching at UNC and UCONN at the collegiate and graduate level before returning to secondary education. During my own graduate studies, I lived in Paris France and taught English there for a year. I grew up in NJ and have been happy to call GA my home since 2010. I truly do not miss the cold or snow from the North East! I’m a big Tar Heels basketball fan! I love to travel to France and have family and friends who live there. Belgium, Spain, Italy, and Corsica are also beautiful but my heart and soul belong to France! I also love Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Thai, and Indian food. A fun fact about me is that I’m addicted to indoor rowing. This is my professional website where you can learn about my background: https://nettzevo.wixsite.com/langtech.
On this website, you will be able to access syllabi, calendars, and other useful resources. Students should come to class ready with all materials, ready to learn, and with completed assignments. I also encourage my students to come talk to me about anything, trust is very important especially in building relationships. Parents and guardians, please encourage your student to come to me and work things out before you and I need to communicate.
As for my list of required supplies for our virtual learning, students please have a physical notebook to write in, writing utensils, and high lighters.
Also please note that the calendars posted on my website are subject to change and should be a guideline and never set in stone. Changes will be communicated in TEAMS so check there please!
I look forward to having a wonderful year with you in French class.
RISE will be on Friday mornings from 7:50-8:15. Students please sign up with me for an appointment.
